Air conditioning and refrigeration technology to enjoy the finest things in life.

The goal:

As part of the renovation and expansion of the Festspielhaus and the Congress Centre in Bregenz, the ventilation and air conditioning system is also to be renewed and upgraded. Particular attention must be paid to the exacting sound requirements in the large hall.

Ventilation, air-conditioning and cooling ceilings encompass the large hall with chair outlets, the grandstand extension, the Propter Homines, Bodensee, and Panorama rooms and the press lounge as well as the kitchen, café and canteen.

Our solution:

• New installation of the air-handling system with a total air flow volume of 83,000 m³/h
• Two newly developed oil-free turbo liquid chillers manufactured by Engie (Quantum model) with a total cooling capacity of 1.22 MW form the core of the system
• Completely new cooling water network from the refrigeration control centre to the various sub-distributors in the respective building sections and from there to the respective consumers
• Small refrigeration units with direct evaporators are installed to meet the cooling requirements in ancillary areas

The data:

• Air conditioning system for the expansion of the grandstand with an exhaust air flow volume of 27,000 m³/h
• 4 air conditioning units for the conference rooms with an exhaust air flow volume of 19,200 m³/h
• Air conditioning for the kitchen/café/canteen with an exhaust air flow volume of 9,000 m³/h
• Air conditioning for the VIP area with an exhaust air flow volume of 7,030 m³/h
• Air curtain for the main entrance with a circulating air flow volume of 25,000 m³/h
• Air conditioning for the lavatory and ancillary rooms with an exhaust air flow volume of 1,500 m³/h
• 3,500 air outlets integrated into the seating
